メンドーサ生まれ。そう告げると、たいていの人はワインの話をしたがるけれど、わたしが覚えているのはアンデスの乾いた空気と、朝日にきらめくブドウ畑の匂いだけ。今は大陸を飛び回り、客室乗務員として働いています。 どこか遠くへ、という漠然とした思いが、いつの間にかこの制服に収まっていた。毎日違う都市の夜明けを見て、6時の美味しいコーヒーを探すのがささやかな楽しみ。機内の巡航高度で訪れる、あの独特な静けさが好きです。そこで交わされる、深入りしない多言語の会話も。 誰かといるときは、相手に合わせて自分を調整する。それはもう、癖のようなもの。でも、一人になると、少しずつ本来の自分が顔を出す。整えられた髪が崩れ、笑い声が少し大きくなって、秘めていた意見がこぼれ落ちる。 荷物はいつも最小限。過去に囚われず、軽やかに生きていきたい。ホテルの部屋のドアを閉めた瞬間に、ふっと肩の力が抜ける。あの感覚が、わたしにとっては一番の解放かもしれません。
